These are some of the endorsements from my 2009 campaign for JCCC trustee. If you want to know who I endorse for the 2011 JCCC trustee election … well, I’d like to know that too.

Miguel M. Morales, of Olathe, is a former student who won national awards for his work as a writer and editor for The Ledger, the student newspaper. Morales campaigned for greater transparency from the college’s board and administration. Those values would suit him well as a trustee. Morales currently works at the college’s library — a position he would give up if elected. As the son of a migrant farm worker, he would be a valuable voice for first-generation and minority students.

Some members of the MAIN*PAC Board serve on the MainStream Coalition Board, but many do not. This gives MAIN*PAC the benefit of broad community awareness whenever the Board urges community or political action.

The Greater Kansas City Women's Political Caucus recruits, trains and elects individuals who support public policies that advance equal rights and opportunities for women, and to promote participation by women in the political process.
Shoestring Theory
Miguel speaks truth to power, but he does so for all of us.
Wouldn’t we all like to see candidates run for office who have shared the same experiences as us, who can legitimately identify with our lives? A candidate whose passion has led them to public service? A candidate who expects the same things from government as we do?
For citizens of Johnson County, we have that candidate in Miguel Morales.”
Liberal Communicator
“The guy knows how to get things done–hell, some say he took down JCCC’s top dog all by himself with his amazing investigative reporting. He loves that school, and I’ve never known anyone to stay at, appreciate, and be involved in a community college the way Migwell is.” -
