When I read a posted an item Friday in The Kansas City Star’s Prime Buzz, I recalled that old song from Paul Simon, “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover.”
The posting listed 14 of the more than 50 items JCCC is considering cutting “in an attempt to find about $4 million in budget cuts.”

- outsourcing campus services like food service and the bookstore — both employ students
- “elimination of several full-time positions, including some that are currently vacant” — eliminating positions, ’nuff said.
Any cuts or adjustments to the budget must protect the college’s quality of education and institutional integrity. Trustees and the administration must find 50 ways to cut the budget that also support students…
