A Twitter post from a JCCC student alerted me to an unusual situation at the college. As directed by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), JCCC notified students of their right to vote in the midterm elections — 11 days after the elections concluded.

Received this letter Nov. 13, 2010 -- 24 days AFTER the deadline to register to vote had passed, 12 days AFTER the letter was dated, and 11 days AFTER the 2010 fall election.

Any Questions?
