JCCC trustees to interview presidential candidates; special sessions are scheduled
The Johnson County Community College board of trustees will interview three candidates for the college president’s position this month.
The candidates and their interview dates are:
During the two-day visit to JCCC, each candidate will meet with students, faculty and staff; the college’s Foundation board; and members of the community.
In addition, the board of trustees will interview each candidate during a special session and will later meet with him for dinner. The special meetings, which will take place in the Hugh Speer board room, GEB 137, on the college campus, are scheduled for 4 p.m. on April 9, 16 and 24.
Terry Calaway, JCCC’s current president, announced his retirement in October. The college posted advertisements about the position in educational media in January and February; applications closed at the end of the first week of March.
A search committee formed to review applications selected semifinalists and conducted initial interviews last month. The finalists will visit the campus in April.
The committee intends to bring a recommendation to the board of trustees at their regular monthly meeting in May.
